FAB Friday Kids' Concert: Anza's Spanish Sing-Along @ Crispus Attucks Playground

Anza spent her early years growing up in Colombia, where she studied music and was a music teacher for over 20 years. In addition, Anza is a singer and a director for the Spanish Music Choir in the Church of the Immaculate Conception here in NYC. She has dedicated her career to bringing happiness to children through music and entertainment in this country for more than a decade. Anza’s Spanish Sing-Along is a regular class at Busy Bodies Brooklyn in Clinton Hill; we are fortunate to have her back for a rousing outdoor performance!

FAB Friday Kids’ Concerts are appropriate for kids ages. 12 mos. – 5 yrs; and the events are FREE. NEW LOCATION: Crispus Attucks Playground, at the corner of Classon Ave. and Fulton St.

FAB FRIDAY KIDS’ CONCERT SERIES is presented by the FAB Alliance, with generous support from Councilmember Laurie A. Cumbo, NYC Small Business Services, and Ridgewood Savings Bank.

Fabulous pianist and teacher Maxine Feldman joins ALDEN MOVES Dance Theater’s Alden LaPaglia for a sing-along and dance-along in one, featuring Disney classics, theater favorites, standards, kids songs, and even the Beatles on 1203’s 6-ft grand piano. The program is designed for toddlers through age 4 with caregivers, but babies and older siblings are welcome and will enjoy it as well. Throughout the program, kids will have the opportunity to dance, play, and bounce around our spacious studio, all while belting out anthems like “It’s a Hard Knock Life.” To top it all off, every program finishes with piano discovery, during which kids can take their own turn at the piano.

The INTERNATIONAL AFRICAN ARTS FESTIVAL (IAAFestival), Brooklyn’s most beloved celebration of African culture and family, returns to Commodore Barry Park on Saturday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 4, 2018. In addition to its stellar line-up of legendary and beloved performers from around the world, its all-day family-friendly programming, and its safe and clean environment, IAAFestival will present a new program feature: a five-day film festival in partnership with the Africa World Documentary Film Festival (AWDFF).

As usual, the 2018 headliners and featured performers include luminaries from a variety of genres: avant-garde jazz and hard bop musician REGINALD “REGGIE” WORKMAN who will play in tribute to JOHN COLTRANE; the world-renown BALLET FOLKLÓRICO CUTUMBA, an Afro-Cuban-Franco-Haitian folk and popular dance and music ensemble from Cuba founded in 1960; AKAE BEKA, the roots rock reggae band formerly known as Midnite; the MUNTU DANCE THEATRE OF CHICAGO; the GRAMMY nominated jazz duo, THE BAYLOR PROJECT featuring JEAN BAYLOR and MARCUS BAYLOR, and NEIL CLARKE’S MONGOJAZZ PROJECT.
